That’s right…I am a girl!

The day after Christmas we went to see Bedtime Stories. Keri Russell has always been one of my favorite actresses, way back to her days in the New Mickey Mouse Club. So, when I found out she was in this movie, I did get excited. Sure, it was a movie the kids wanted to see because of the guinea pig with the bugged out eyes and the raining gumballs. Ed didn't mind seeing it because he enjoys Adam Sandler movies. But still, it was another movie on the list of kid and man movies I have been out to see. When was the last time I saw a "chick flick"? Probably when I begged my neighbor to go see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 with me. I have seen every super hero/action movie and all major kid movies…Iron Man, Batman, Incredible Hulk, Hellboy II, Quantum of Solace, Wall-E, Kung Fu Panda, Horton Hears a Who and Bolt. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed all of these movies. But, please notice the lack of female oriented films. So last night, I made myself some homemade soup and found my way to the basement for a night of chick flicks. I watched The Women, which I thought was pretty good. Nothing is better than a group of friends helping one of their own. I was even able to catch The Notebook and The Lakehouse. Even though I love spending time with all my boys, there are times I have to remind myself that yes…I am still a girl!

Christmas Day…

Was it too much to expect two little boys to stay in their rooms with the doors shut until Mom and Ed came to get them Christmas morning? Evidently not. Feeling guilty about delaying the surprises that only Christmas morning can hold, we set the alarm for 8am, only to find Logan happily watching morning cartoons and Tyler still soundly sleeping. I suppose the fact that Tyler was quickly woken from a deep sleep from his now over-anxious brother accounts for his dazed and confused look coming down the stairs. It really was a good ten minutes before he really noticed the Lightning McQueen Power wheels that his stocking was sitting in. Logan was more excited about Lightning McQueen than Tyler initially appeared to be, but only because he couldn't locate his own stocking, which was conveniently located just to the right of Tyler's. His excitement quickly matched Tyler's, and Christmas morning was officially underway…
