Happy Easter!

We have been so busy! Even though we've been on Spring Break, we seem busier than normal. Logan hasn't played football yet because every Saturday has been snowed out. They didn't pplay this weekend because it was Easter weekend. Now the dilemma is that we are supposed to go camping this coming weekend, which is now the official "opening day" for football. We're thinking about driving to Lake George on Friday afternoon, then coming back to Colorado Springs Saturday morning for his games, and then going back. We'll see what actually happens--I don't want to see weather put us down yet another weekend for football, but if there is bad weather...guess who will be camping in it???

The boys head back to school tomorrow after a 2-week hiatus. Gotta love their school district! Not to mention, it was actually 2-weeks and a day because the Friday before ended up being a snow day! But we managed to squeeze in some fun on my week off. We went to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid, went to the arcade and had some lunch at Chili's. Tyler and I took Aurora, Luna, and Kiera to Disney on Ice and then Ed and I loaded up all 5 kids Saturday morning and went to see How to Train your Dragon. We had so much fun! Both boys were sick over Spring Break, but thank goodness it didn't last too long!

Just wanted to post some pictures of the fun we've been having. Pray for me this week as I take on a new challenge at work...phonics! I've never done it, but I do not doubt that I will be fabulous at it!

Let's See...

Okay, so somehow my message is all the way at the bottom...but enjoy!

Wait a second, that's not my signature!

As usual, I didn't update as much as I wanted to this month. What can I say...I'm a busy bee! I am happy to say that I have lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks! Come to think of it, that's where most of my spare time has been going--working out. I try my hardest to work out everyday, but sometimes I leave at 6:30 am and don't get home until 8pm. I spend what little time I can with Ed and the boys, and by time they go to bed, I am wrapped up in preparing things to start the next day. So...I try. Must be doing something good though because I've lost weight! Go me!

Ed has a procedure tomorrow in Denver. We are hoping this will alleviate the pain in his neck and lower spine. I know he is dying to get back to his normal routine because he is definitely not a bed-rest sort of guy. Not to mention...I'm not the best nurse-maid. Regardless, I can still count on my fella to help me out whenever I need him to..from picking up sick kids to bringing me various shapes of pasta to create a visual of simple metamorphosis. Did I also mention the day he drove all the way to my school just to bring me the TV dinner that I had forgotten that morning? What a sweetie!

Here are some pictures of what we've been up to...

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's a whole new year! So much has happened this past year...especially the past two weeks! I posted a few highlights from our trip to Georgia to see Ed's family. Steffani drove down from Indianapolis the day after Christmas, and Ed was so happy to get to spend time with her. The boys also loved seeing their big sister! We had a fantastic Christmas dinner with Ed's mom, Liz, and her husband, Doug. I would definitely have to say that the highlight of our trip was going to the Falcons' game at the Georgia Dome. We had so much fun!

While the trip was fun, we eventually had to head back to Colorado. The night before we left, we decided to take a detour home and go visit my family in Texas. We were only their a day, but the boys had fun with their cousins, and I got to go baby furniture shopping with my mom and sisters.

We made it home in one piece, thank goodness! I get to go back to work tomorrow, but I'm really excited because I graduate in May! I can't believe it...there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I really enjoy working with my clinical teacher and the rest of the 5th grade team at my school. Wish me luck...I start my teacher work sample next week!

Happy New Years! (Oh, and don't feel left out if you didn't get a Christmas card. We haven't mailed them yet!)

Okay, admit it...you know you secretly want a Snuggie, too! We got one for Logan and Tyler for Christmas, and we all liked them so much we went to the mall a couple of days later and bought us all one. This was us making fun of the Snuggie commercial. Great family fun!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Just wanted to add a few pictures of the boys, and the fun we have been having for the past couple of days. The boys had two snow days this week, but since my school NEVER closes, we still waited until today to carve pumpkins. We spread towels out on the living room table and watched "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" while we cleaned pumpkins.
I was so happy to get to go the the boys' parties at school on Friday. They had so much fun, and I know they were so excited about wearing their costumes at school. I actually LET them pick out their own costumes this year. Usually I make them go as a duo--you know, Mario and Luigi, Racer X and Speed Racer. But this year, I let them go for it. How funny that they picked the exact same costume.
It was cold, but we went around the neighborhood with a friend of mine and her family, and we had a blast! The kids were loaded down with candy and were pretty much pooped after an hour. (Thank goodness!)

I know...I know!!!

So I haven't been doing so well with the blog. What can I say...I'm a busy girl. I promise I will try harder. But for now, here is a smidgen of what we've been up to...

Logan is quite the little man...

Tyler is still a cutie pie...

I almost did it...

So, I came really close to getting a picture every day. It's going to take me a while to get used to. Plus a smaller camera (hint, hint Prince Charming). I love my camera...but it is super bulky and not really travel friendly. I would like one that I could just leave in my purse. Of course, then I would let it go completely dead and still not be able to take pictures. Oh well, one step at a time, right?

SATURDAY

We went to the second annual movie at the park night. It helps that the park is directly across the street from our house. Our friends like that our house is directly across the street too. Kids have to go to the bathroom at the most inconvenient times. We watched Bolt, which I think is one of the best Disney movies ever!

SUNDAY

Tyler has become addicted to wearing his Crocs. Hey, I'm totally fine with that. Until your toes get super crusty. He had taken a shower the night before, but obviously the dirt-laden toes didn't go through the entire cleaning process. So I made him wear his "fancy" shoes sans socks to church. He complained the entire time. I told him that maybe it would remind him why I like for him to take a bath instead of a shower. It allows time for the dirt to soak off.

MONDAY

It hailed three times in one day. Hopefully you can see the hail on the sidewalk.

TUESDAY

This is what a kid looks like when there is no electricity. It actually went out before the storm even started and came back on after the storm was over. Weird. Tyler kept insisting that every light bulb in the house was burned out.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY...& FRIDAY

Hey, I never said I was perfect.

SATURDAY

I'm not sure why he chooses to sleep in the recliner when there is a sofa and loveseat. Not to mention the bed he has in his room...

SUNDAY

We went to a car show in Old Colorado City today. The boys love going to car shows, thank goodness. I love this picture of them. Now I have to figure out how to get my camera off the black and white setting.

Whew...summer went by too fast!

I can hardly believe that summer is over for us. The boys started school on August 5th, and I had to report on August 3rd. I hate not being able to take them to school and pick them up, but Ed does a great job taking care of everything for me. What a great guy! Since the boys are in a regular public school now, they get to wear whatever they want to school, which they love. I even gave in and let Tyler wear his Phineas and Ferb shirt to school the first day with his Lightning McQueen light up shoes. Hey, I should consider myself lucky that Tyler opted for the $14 pair of Lightening McQueen shoes instead of the $50 Nike shoes. My new philosophy is that if he prefers the cheap stuff now, that's what I'll get him. I know that in a few years that is bound to change! Of course, Logan's wardrobe is full of skulls, skateboards, and guitars. I stood firm on no character shoes for him...no matter how "cool" those Bakugan shoes were.
Since our schedule has changed so drastically, I have decided to do something different with my blog. My cousin's wife does this neat thing called "Project 365", where she takes a picture every day and blogs about what they did every day that week, but she only does it once a week. I think that Saturday mornings will be my catch up from the week blog day. Of course, I can't do that today because I have no pictures from this week, except a phone shot of the boys the first day of school.

Wish me luck! (Oh, and I have no idea why the first part is underlined!)
