That’s right…I am a girl!

The day after Christmas we went to see Bedtime Stories. Keri Russell has always been one of my favorite actresses, way back to her days in the New Mickey Mouse Club. So, when I found out she was in this movie, I did get excited. Sure, it was a movie the kids wanted to see because of the guinea pig with the bugged out eyes and the raining gumballs. Ed didn't mind seeing it because he enjoys Adam Sandler movies. But still, it was another movie on the list of kid and man movies I have been out to see. When was the last time I saw a "chick flick"? Probably when I begged my neighbor to go see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 with me. I have seen every super hero/action movie and all major kid movies…Iron Man, Batman, Incredible Hulk, Hellboy II, Quantum of Solace, Wall-E, Kung Fu Panda, Horton Hears a Who and Bolt. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed all of these movies. But, please notice the lack of female oriented films. So last night, I made myself some homemade soup and found my way to the basement for a night of chick flicks. I watched The Women, which I thought was pretty good. Nothing is better than a group of friends helping one of their own. I was even able to catch The Notebook and The Lakehouse. Even though I love spending time with all my boys, there are times I have to remind myself that yes…I am still a girl!

  1. Glad you started a blog, it will be fun to have another way to keep up with you. If you lived closee by you could totally join me and my lady friends on our girl's (movie) night out. Allan is actually pretty good at seeing my movies every other date. I am glad that you took a little time to be girly last night. Another good chick flick is Mansfield Park.
