Project 365 Week 8

Another late week, but I've downloaded the blogger app on my phone and since that's where most of my pictures come from, I'm hoping it will make it easier! But...on to our week (2 weeks ago)!

Sunday: We went to the ice castle in Steamboat Springs. It was amazing! They used over 30 millions gallons of water to make it. When it melts, it goes back into the natural water system.

Monday: We stopped for a photo outside of Steamboat. It was so pretty.

Tuesday: Okay, so I obviously didn't take these next couple of pictures. But-according to my iPhoto, I downloaded them on these 2 days. As a teacher and a mom, I get both sides of this!

Wednesday: Another funny for you.

Thursday: We had a snow day! I spent most of the day grading writing papers. It's a very lengthy process. I had a cup of hot chocolate to warm me up. I had actually gotten sick the night before and went to bed early, so finding out at 10pm the night before a snow day that the school was already closed the next day was a special treat.

Friday: We went out to eat with Ed's son Drew and his wife Shelly. It was their 4th anniversary. It's funny to see Drew holding his baby sister!

Another interesting thing from that night...we were looking at books at B&N and Ed came across a book called Warrior Police. He assumed it was about Military Police, so he started thumbing through it. He saw some names he recognized, but then saw something shocking-his own name! The author was telling the story of an ambush in Iraq that Ed led a squad of his soldiers through. One was mortally wounded during the attack. It is an amazing story. Can't believe we just came across it like this!

Saturday: We finally had a booth sale for our cookies. We sold almost 100 boxes! That's my co-leader and fellow second grade teacher, Shari.

On to next week!

Project 365 Week 7

Another busy week in the McCoy-Rossman household. We worked really hard this week to keep the house picked up because we were heading to Denver and Steamboat Springs for the long weekend. We have had a lot of fun! I left ALL my work at home because I knew if I even brought my flashdrive with me that I would be tempted to do work.

As I type this, the boys are splashing around in the pool hotel, and it is snowing like crazy outside. Ed is already worrying about the drive home. Please pray for a safe trip home for us tomorrow!

Here was our week...

Sunday: My office is at the front of the house, and there is really nothing to protect it from the cold north wind. I also think it's the last room that the heat gets to, which is also why it's so cold. I keep a radiator in there for days when I have work to do. This was the temperature in my office when I turned it on. Brrrrrrr!!!

Monday: One day last week, the dog ran under my legs and hit the cabinet door where my desktop sits. My flash drive was plugged it and was connected to my lanyard, school badge, and whistle. He somehow managed to whack it and bent it. I immediately went into a nuclear meltdown because I literally had 4 years of work on it. Before you ask...yes, I do back it up, but maybe only once a month. I was working on all my lesson plans for that week and the thought of having to recreate them...well, I couldn't imagine. Ed managed to salvage the stick long enough to transfer it to the desktop. I finally bought a new flash drive, and I transferred everything to it. It took FOREVER.

Tuesday: This little cutie has been leaning forward in her bouncer, so we put her in the Bumbo during dinner. She lasted for about 5 minutes. I remember mentioning to Ed that she looked so big sitting in, but in the picture she looks so tiny!

Wednesday: I LOVE MAGAZINES. I will subscribe to almost anyone that has any article that could possibly pertain to my life. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to read them during the week. Thank goodness for this long weekend...I have some time to catch-up!

Thursday: Valentine's Day!!! We had a soda float party in my classroom, and it was lots of fun. Ed had cub scouts, so he and Emmalyn came to the school early for the party. I had beautiful roses delivered to me, along with a sweet little bear, balloon, and a box of chocolates. What a man I have! We went to eat at Ruby Tuesday's, and it was sooooooo good!

However, since we were heading out of town this weekend, I had to go back to work to do my lesson plans for the coming week. This is what it looked like when I left. So creepy. I was actually relieved that there was a policeman sitting in the parking lot when I left.

Friday: I told one of my students that if she didn't cheer up, I would be forced to call her Grumpy for the duration of the day. This led to the students trying to remember all the names of the 7 dwarves. This was the list we came up with. I contributed the first two. They crack me up.

Saturday: The kids and I spent the day in Denver while Ed was at a Flames of War tournament in Aurora. We went on a tour of the Hammond Candy Factory, which was so much fun. We then went to the Denver Children's Museum. It was so crowded, but the boys had a blast. I think we were there for almost four hours! After that was dinner at Casa Bonita. I had read about it in my Colorado Day Trips for Families book. It said the food was so-so, but the atmosphere was awesome. The boys had so...much...FUN! There were cliff divers, fire jugglers, a shoot out, and more. They had a huge arcade and a haunted cave. E and I sat at the table, eating sopapillas and reading magazines. Well...I ate the sopapillas and read the magazines. It was our bonding time.

My nephew, Cayson, sent his Flat Stanley to visit us for a while, so he got to come on the fun weekend, too! Check back for a post about his travels with us!

This was inside Casa Bonita. So festive and fun!

And, of course, a picture of this little doll. Seriously kid...you are too dang cute for words!!!

Have a blessed week!

Project 365 Week 6

So...I'm super late getting this up, but better late than never!

Sunday: I wonder if Tyler realizes that the pictures he takes of himself end up in my Photo Stream. Nonetheless, thanks for the pic, buddy!

Monday: I try to make as much as I can in the crock pot; that way, I feel like I am still making dinner, yet it is ready as soon as I get home. This was my go with lasagna. It turned out okay. Ed ended up having to leave for an appointment and I didn't think to have him turn it down before he left, so the sides were a but more brown than I would've like. But it was eaten. So I would call it a success.

Tuesday: Tyler has taken up residence in my bedroom recently. Could be because of all of his bizarre fears. Or his undying love for his sister.

Wednesday: When E is being cute (which is pretty much all the time), Ed will text me a picture. Seriously...how cute is she???

Thursday: Ed and I went out to eat. Love me some Noodles & Co.

Friday: It was hat day at school. And the hat my brother gave one of the boys for Christmas conveniently matched my sweatshirt. If you look really close, you can see my Baylor flag behind me. Ironic.

Saturday: After church we went to Golden Corral. It seems to be a favorite of the boys. It started to snow like crazy when we got there.

Hopefully I will complete this past week's tonight so I'm not behind again!

Hope you all had a blessed week!

Project 365 Week 5

It's been a long week. I'm really hoping that this week is a lot better!

Here it is in pictures...

Sunday: Here is my little running buddy. Isn't she a cutie?

Monday: I was totally surprised that the boys' school district did not have a snow day. I think the storm blew in too late for a delay. It was worse in my school district, which almost never happens. The drive was a nightmare.

Tuesday: This is our German Shepard, George. He had a pretty gross infection on his neck that we didn't even know about. Thank goodness we had taken him to the groomer and they caught it. The fur around his neck is so thick, so I doubt we would've ever noticed it before it was too late. He's feeling a lot better now after strong antibiotics and pain medication.

Wednesday: Ed and I tried out the new Mexican food restaurant in town. It was pretty good.

And how cute are these two?

Thursday: This is how I found Tyler when I got home. I love when he falls asleep with a book instead of his hands on a video game controller.

This one falls asleep in pretty strange positions, too.

Friday: It was a busy day. This is the football board for the Super Bowl. Ed and I won two quarters last year!

This is what my coat rack looks like in my classroom. This was after I gave out refills. I have to go tomorrow and pick up four cases of each cookie tomorrow so we can restock!

E got a new toy on Friday. When she kicks her feet and hits the bottom, it sets the lights and music off. I think she loves it!

And once again...Tyler asleep with a book.

Saturday: We went to Tuscano's Brazilian Steakhouse tonight. I love any restaurant that has servers walking around with skewers of meat for you. The boys loved it, too. Especially the cake...

I am really praying for a better week than last week. In the meantime, I will continue to be thankful for these sweet boys, their baby sister, and my amazing husband.

Have a blessed week!

Project 365 Week 4

Is it really week 4 already? I am doing so good at this!!! Here was our week...with some extra pictures!

Sunday: I guess we should be happy that the Falcons made the playoffs. At least E got to wear her cheerleader suit a few times.

Monday: The kids and I all had Monday off for MLK Jr. Day. We decided to just hang at home. Emmalyn finally discovered the purpose of her arms...to hit those darn toys!

Tuesday: I'm running a half-marathon in April. I'm not really sure what I was thinking when I signed up, but since it cost me a small fortune, I am committed. I want to personally thank Nike for these socks that help me distinguish the right one from the left one. To be honest, when they come out of the wash, they look exactly the same. Except for the letters.

Wednesday: I had actually prepared part of this dinner in advance so it would be ready when I got home. It's so nice to come home and sit down with these guys and here about their day.

Thursday: The view from the stop sign by my school. So pretty.

Friday: A certain "used to be the baby now the middle child" informed me that he was feeling somewhat neglected and the only thing that could rectify the situation was one-on-one time with Mom. So I promised him that when I got home Friday we would do something together. That ended up being dinner at Burger King and a trip to Game Stop. I love this kid.

Saturday: While Tyler got BK and Gamestop on Friday, Logan got Taco Bell and Girl Scout Cookies on Saturday. He was my helper when I picked up the cookies, which took a LONG time. No complaints from me though. I sure didn't want to be hauling out all those cookie and dealing with angry troop leaders! We then had to take them to my school, where my co-leader and second grade teammate got in on the fun! By 4pm, we only had a few boxes left after distributing them. I hope the girls have good sales this year!

Also on Saturday, Ed and I decided to grab a quick dinner and then he wanted to go look for a new watch. While passing Claire's I thought...why not? Let's get some ears pierced! E did so good on the first one, but the second one was not so much fun. She looks adorable! (Hopefully the video will play!)

Hope you all have a blessed week!
